Avatartanz is a series of interactive dance performances that have been realized by children between age 8 to 13. In collaboration with the Theatre Freiburg, the University of Applied Research Offenburg, an Daniel Bisig, a workshop has been organised that offered the children the possibility to develop short dance sequences during which they dance with an abstract visual and acoustic representation of themselves. This representation is created by a combination of an interactive swarm simulation that is visually projected onto the backdrop of the stage and an digital audio processing system that transforms live recorded acoustic input. More information is available on the website: http://www.theater.freiburg.de

This project has been realized as a collaboration:

Graham Smith: Choreography and Tutoring
Ephraim Wegner: Interactive Audio System
Daniel Bisig: Interactive Swarm Simulation and Visualzation
